Presenting to you… the article I have posted when I didn’t have an official blog yet.
Anyways, I just really do not get it why in Filipino society, basta makinis ang balat mo naturally, maganda ka na kaagad. I mean, yeah, you have nice skin but that does not always translate to pretty features.
(BTW, the latter two are known for being pretty in person without makeup because of their KUTIS MAHARLIKA)
Wendy Valdez, however, had bad skin. That’s why she’s not so pretty (by Filipino standards), but her features could pass for pretty.
Basta maputi at makinis ang balat tapos straight pa ang buhok mo, maganda ka na kaagad, kahit hindi masyadong kagandahan ang features ng mukha mo (e.g., ugly nose, regardless if it is pango or matangos, or prolly a not-so-good facial symmetry).
Well, one thing that Wendy Valdez lacks is a beautiful body. It only improved when she transferred to TV5. And don’t you know that she had a boob job (which many people deny!)?
I personally think MSP is OK (*ehem* MORE THAN OK)-looking (even though she does not consider herself pretty LOL)–kahit tadtad pa siya ng zits o wrinkles, hindi parin ina-agnas ang kagandahan niya hanggang ngayon! You think I am exaggerating!? Hell, Koreans and Japanese people like her eyes (an ahjumma one time gave compliments to her haha)–which is something that many East Asians envy! Even white people!
I have to THANK megnita for agreeing with me.
And BTW, I also find Rufa Mae Quinto pretty if she did not touch anything on her face and body! Sayang ang byuti niya, sa totoo lang.
White skin doesn’t always mean attractive. Anyways, dark eyebags look good on tanned women, I tell you.
Kaya kapag mga Koreana ang itatanong, they desire for Western look even though there are many Korean women who are attractive without the need for plastic surgery. Blame their society for not allowing them to embrace their own physical individuality and blame superficiality in their culture. I mean, there are MANY (as in totemo TAKUSAN/taksan) Korean women who still LOOK GOOD despite their sharp features. Ask Professor Oh about it (sweetandtastyTV).
Ask a Korean, I bet she won’t agree with you that having smooth skin is not enough to call a person attractive. Ganun kataas ang standards nila.
No wonder, many Koreans envy Filipinas for their simple yet elegant beauty. Kaya effort talaga silang magpaganda not just because of their society, but it’s because for them to totally fit in their society.
I know a lot of people who still look good despite the zits.
AND REMEMBER: Many wrinkles does not signify you will look older than your age. Wrinkles may give signs of ageing, but that does not mean pati features mo maa-agnas na rin. Oh yes, Amuro Namie may have “aged” esp. without makeup, but the features! Hindi parin ina-agnas. Lee Young-ae is another example.
Many people who naturally looking older than their age will of course envy those who are baby-faced ever since. Well, those people who were not so attractive during their younger years are the ones who look younger than their age as they grow older, not like those who were attractive earlier… yet mature early because yeah, they have this good looks since they’re young. I mean, come on, it really depends on the genetic makeup of your parents, probably one of them or both are really younger-looking, compared to those who have a bad genetic makeup.
And don’t you know that there are lots of people with good skin texture who age earlier than those who have a bad skin texture? That’s because effort lang sa pagpapaganda ng balat ang hindi pinagpala ng magandang balat. See why Alodia Gosiengfiao is still younger-looking than Ellen Adarna, to think she’s a month older (Ellen BTW, is born on an April, not September, of 1988 while Alodia was born in March 1988). I have noticed that Ellen has aged earlier probably due to smoking. Alodia, meanwhile, does not smoke (I think, ah).
Yeah! I think the secret to not look older than your age is to AVOID smoking! Smoking will either give you MORE wrinkles or age your looks. I bet, Ellen still has good skin texture, but she aged a lot compared to Alodia, who didn’t age ever since. I really do not know with Saab Magalona since even though she smokes, she still does not age (I bet, she’s not a chain smoker).
[Oh yes, MSP was complimented for being mistaken as a fifth grader, but she didn’t take it as a compliment at all!]
But another thing: Being young-looking also equates to being good-looking.
But that does not mean you’re pretty. What is the use of a baby face and good skin texture if you don’t have sophisticated features, huh!?
